CYBERCRIME

Cybercrime is a term used to describe criminal activities that involve the use of the Internet.
From the illegal download of movies, of music to the illegal use of datas such as the personnal ones that people put on the Internet, for instance the date of birth with can be use for social security, cybercrime is widespread and hardly punished, since it is very difficult to identify the cybercriminals . Spamming can also belong to the cybercriminal activities. Those activities need a very good knowledge of the internet. This means that there are a lot of types of cybercrimes and of cybercriminals.
The main difficulty in cybercriminality is that a cybercriminal can be very different from another. And, in a worldwide context of technologies that change very fast, and where a lot of people have difficulties to identify what is cybercrime and what is not, this question remains a very important one, that will need more and more needs to be tackled.

YouTube is a popular website of free video sharingsite which lets users upload and view videos Founded in February 2005 by three employees of Paypal. The wide variety of site content includes movies and nd TV clips and music videos, as well as amateur content. In October 2006, google announced that it had reached a deal to acquire the company. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2006.
With You tube, users may submit videos in several common-file formats and YouTube automatically converts them to flash video and makes them available for online viewing.
You tube arises the controversy on copypyright infringement. Also, Youtube is a very fast way of circulation of videos, that one can be afraid of. For instance, the Star Wars Kid event is a good example of the overspread of videos thanks to you tube.

My point of view is that Youtube is part of the revolutionnary effect of the internet, that allows people that are non professional to become experts of video transforming: this is how democratic the internet is. Youtube is, in my mind the perfect example of a hobby for experts or expertise for all. Every one can be famous thanks to Youtube, and this very celebrity can be reckoned true since it comes from thr internet users themselves. there is no false promotion or adverts, but only marks that people can give to the videos.
But, I must say that I feel afraid in front of this phenomenon, because in that world no one can keep safe its own image. The internet is a tool that really needs well educated citizens, which is hardly widespread.

The main issue is that many people, mostly teenagers, view the internet as a playground, where everything is possible, as if it were a land of no reponsibility. The fufutr of Youtube is the education of the users.

Why I had a farm in Africa?
Out of Africa is the real story of Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen), is the life of a woman through the colonisation, through the adventure of the discovey of a new world that is a new culture. This movie is all about culures, civilizations, the West, the war, and love. This movie is a myth, the myth of a beautiful land that is not ours, that is a gift.10.11.2006

S-HTTP is a superset of HTTP, which allows messages to be encapsulated in various ways. S-HTTP appears to be extremely flexible in what it will allow the programmer to do. S- HTTP also offers the potential for substantial user involvement.

Identity theft is a very important thing to be aware about. For instance, when consulting our mail, our bank account, as we have to do when we are customers of most banks. For instance, Lloyd's TSB asks us to consult on the internet our bank account twice a month so that it makes money. So, about social security, bank accounts, there are many things we have to take care with. For instance, in my personnal case, before, I didn't know about that and I thought that I just had to close the window of my securised bank account. The problem is is that we are not enough taught about that, and the question is why? Security on the internet should be something more precise for users.
English as a second language?

Learning English on the internet is something quite easy. Indeed, a lot of word when using the internet -if not all of them- are in English. Moreover, if we really want to learn to learn English, there are dictionnaries on line, teaching English websites , or listenning to English movies, or podcasting English programs, thanks to social network we can meet English speaking people, and when I was a young student, my teacher told us to talk with English people on the internet! Thus, we can say that the internet is one of the
best way to learn english, after going to England.
What the Internet is, and how to use it

To use the internet we need discipline because this is a whole world with its codes and its particularities. When we are on the internet we have to learn all this specific way of using it and communicate with it. This discipline can be conscious or unconscious. Indeed, when we look at a website, we automatically know where are the adverts, and where to find real information. For instance in a website like c dicount really need discipline to use it: not to buy to many things, and to know how to goto what you are
looking for.
The internet can teach us patience since we need time to learn how to use it, to understand how new technologies work. Just like creating a website needs patience!

The internet is one of the best places where you can share what you like, music, pictures, movies, etc. For instance blogs have become a very important website. That spirit of generosity in the very definition of the widespread idealistic viewpoint on democracy and web. Also, everything website like Youtube, the sharing of music show generosity, and creative commons, is a good example of it.

A very good way of learning perseverance, since exploring different websites through google takes time and we don’t have all what we want to know that we need as fast as we would like.

That new way of communication which is the internet helps us trying to be comprehensive since all the different viewpoints are on the Internet; it makes us open our mind to others. In that respect, the Internet is actually the same as in real life, it does not make differences disappear. Moreover, the internet is also a whole world with ist own codes and one user of the internet could get loste if he doesn't learn these codes. In my personnal experience I can feel lost easily when surfing on the web, but I also learn fast. That is why the internet is also a very good way of self discipline and gives us the will of learning more.

Since the internet is a place where everybody can express himself, when using it we need insight to help us be careful to more or less good information. Insight is the act or result of apprehending the inner nature of things or of seeing intuitively, this is also a power of acute observation and deduction, penetration, discernment, perception and introspection. In Buddhism, the Pali word for "insight" is "vipassana". This buddist point of view on insight is highly interesting. Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation.
This is an art of living and a non-sectarian technique for the total eradication of mental impurities and the resultant highest happiness of full liberation. Healing, not merely the curing of diseases, but the essential healing of human suffering, is its purpose. Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.

Insight, among others, is what we need when we communicate, throughout the internet or in any situation of communication. Insight is also a situation of communication, a communication with ourselves, that is a communion with what we are deeply.

Looking for friends?

Social network like friendset are new ways of meeting some friends. We can enter in communication with people that are friends of our friends.
The problem is that people can hide behind their computer, they can play, they can lie; or they can say everything, as if talking to an idealistic person. We can know more people than before, but, thus, what means knowing?
We can say "friends of my friends are my friends", and so do we meet very different people?
Friendset, Meetic,..., and many others websites make us choose who we want to meet.
So, e-relationships will not be, as it seems, the realisation of that eternal dream of worldwide friendship.
fighting against what? the DRM fight, useless and lost yet...

The DRM fight against illegal dowload of movies or music is for me an impossible fight. In the current situation, when people can know as many things as professionals, it is time that Majors and others professional of the question tackle issues through different ways. Instead of fighting aginst it, it would be better use the Internet as an occasion for artists to share what they produce and throughout the net become famous. For instance, knowing that the Internet is an excptionnal way of learning and teaching, how far is the use of such practices? If we act trying always to get paid when we share things, websites like youtube would never exist.
The DADVSI law is highly criticised and arise controversy. A good part of the web community is strongly opposed to DRM.
save the internet: neutrality is e-future

Web neutrality is part of the idealistic view point on the Internet, reckoned as the best place of freedom expression ever. Saying that, does it really exist? This question needs all our critic view point, since no one is able to say how far web neutrality is respected, even in a democratic country. But, since web neutrality is what makes the Internet so widespread, this principle must be respected.
the chat, a revolution!

What is becoming really important in the Internet is interactivity. Web users are more and more asked to express themselves on the Internet, and the chat, with great authors for instance is an example of that trend, commonly called the Web 2.0. In that case, Jean d'Ormesson ansers to all the questions, which makes us be closer to him. In others cases the chat is what makes the internet so successful, because people can exchange on different subjects that are more or less important, such as pets and animals, or religion, or health, etc. I personnaly use this way of communicating when I want to travel. On many websites for tourists, we can find many advices about hostels, nicest places to see. Throughout tne net of travellers we can have what we cannot find on travel book in bookshops or librairies, because the advices do not have the advertising dimension, that is always present in any touristic website.
This is the same for all the official online magazines, the advices that are given are necessarily under the prssure of adverts, which not always a bad thing beacuse it is good to know the good products, but it can make ths advices quite false.
Podcast, the radio's future?

Podcasting is a revolution in the radio's history. As it happens for TV, radio no longer needs a specific technic to be listened at. For instance, on yahoo, we can listen to radio programs whatever is the time, the subject or the language. Honestly, I have never podcasted something, but I am quite sure of the future success of this new way of listenning to radio programs, and I believe that this radio on demand could become a real revolution in the freedom of expression's history, because it will more simpler to produce a radio program: people will be able to produce one by one program, without the necessity of talking from a radio's studio. Every body will be able to talk through the radio!
